BC Family Health Visiting Program
In 2024, at the direction of the Ministry of Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority’s (PHSA), Child Health BC (CHBC) and Perinatal Services BC (PSBC) began leading work to develop the BC Family Health Visiting Program (BC FHVP) for individuals, children and families during the prenatal, postpartum and early childhood periods, in collaboration with the regional health authorities.
This work builds on the learnings, principles and evidence from existing family health visiting programs including those currently offered by regional health authorities. The BC FHVP aims to uphold inherent rights of Indigenous Peoples, improve culturally centered care, inclusivity, equity, and improve quality of care.
