Erica Koopmans
Erica Koopmans is the Regional Coordinator for Northern Health based in Prince George, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded land of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation. In her role, Erica supports Child Health BC projects in the region and collaborates with a variety of health care providers and community partners across practice settings to plan and implement initiatives aimed at improving the health of children. Erica is passionate about strengthening community partnerships and applying collaborative approaches to service design and delivery that foster health equity for children and families in BC.
Erica holds a Doctorate in Health Sciences from the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and a Master of Public Health from the University of British Columbia. Her research interests include primary prevention, integrated health services, and rural health equity. Erica's doctoral research focused on care coordination for children aged 0 to 8 and their families experiencing social and/or economic barriers in a rural primary health care context.
